Title:Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting Power Conditioning Circuits: The History and Future

Abstract:
the energy harvesting technologies provide a promising power solution for future distributed and mobile electronics. The power conditioning circuits act an important role in the vibration energy harvesting systems. In the piezoelectric energy harvesting (PEH) systems, the development of energy harvesting interface circuit has experienced four generations since the 2000s: the passive rectifiers, synchronized single-switch circuits, doubleswitch circuits, and multi-switch circuits. It gradually arrives at an understanding that the increase of voltage transition numbers helps minimize the energy dissipation in power conditioning. On the other hand, since the third generation, the bidirectional energy transfer was introduced under the alias active energy harvesting, energy injection, energy investment, pre-biasing, etc., towards larger energy extraction. More energy extraction creates more income, while less energy dissipation reduces the expenditure. The synergy of both features has led to a substantial increase of the net harvested energy. This talk briefly reviews the development of four generations of energy harvesting interface circuits. Base on that, we introduce a general idea and some practical implementations towards the cutting-edge PEH interface circuits, in particular, the multilevel bidirectional power conversion circuits. The global view on the historical evolution of the PEH circuits, their synergy with the mechatronic dynamics, and the related applications helps the analysis and prediction towards the future development of piezoelectric power management circuits.

梁俊睿博士是上海科技大學信息科學與技術沐鸣的助理教授/研究員。他本科和碩士畢業於上海交通大學儀器科學與技術系🛝,博士畢業於香港中文大學機械與自動化工程學系🤝。梁博士現為SCI索引期刊IET Circuits, Devices & Systems的副主編。他是IEEE電路與系統學會電力與能源電路與系統技術委員會委員和ASME航空航天分部能源收集技術委員會委員。梁博士的研究興趣包括💁🏼:能量轉換和電力電子,動能收集和振動控製,機電一體化和物聯網設備等。梁博士在國際學術期刊和會議共發表技術論文45篇並申請兩項中國專利。梁博士先後於2009和2010年IEEE國際信息與自動化大會榮獲兩項最佳論文獎,他是2011年香港中文大學『研究生學術成果獎』的獲得者。
